What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is the study and application of various natural therapies that assist your body to heal itself. Naturopathy works with the truth that God created your body with the power to heal itself. The practice of Naturopathy is based on the fact that there are laws of nature that govern and order life. If those laws are obeyed, then there is hope of restoration and maintenance of vital health. If they are transgressed, then there is eventually disorder and disease.

Naturopathy is a science that simply offers knowledge and assistance to help create the right environment for God to heal through the natural law of healing.

Two Principles of Naturopathy

There are two main principles in the practice of Naturopathy. First, the body must be able to regularly eliminate toxins. Illness is your body's attempt to cleanse and eliminate toxins from your body. Naturopathy doesn't try to offer remedies to mask symptoms of illness, but simply assists the body to do what it does naturally in the course of repair, restoration, and healing.

Second, the body must be able to absorb and process food-based nutrients for the proper nourishment and function of each cell in every system (nervous system, muscular system, cardiovascular system, and so forth).

So, you are what you eliminate and assimilate. It's about that simple.


Putting It All Together

In addition to these two principles, there are other factors that contribute to optimal health:  exercise, fresh air, and clean water.

There are also spiritual laws that affect health. These laws relate to our Creator God and to each other. They involve obedience, mercy, grace, forgiveness, justice, and love.

In many ways, the spiritual part of us affects the physical and vise versa.
