What is Iridology?
Iridology is the study of the iris of the eye. This study is very useful to help the health care professional understand your physical and emotional strengths and weaknesses. Much of what an experienced Iridologist sees in the iris helps explain genetic inheritances as well as possible present conditions.
An Iridologist analyzes the color of an iris, the texture or fibers of the iris, and particular signs within the iris to help assess the potential physical condition of a person. It will prompt him to ask questions about family health history and about present health issues.
Interestingly, the iris is really a map of the body and what you might be experiencing health wise.
History of Iridology
Although Iridology may have begun over a thousand years ago in ancient Egypt and Central Asia, modern Iridology started in the mid 1800s.
Since then, a great deal of advancement has taken place in the science of Iridology. Even recently, in 1982, the National Iridology Research Association was founded. Now the name has been changed to The International Iridology Practitioners Association where much information is gathered in the science of Iridology from all over the world.
